I love this knit – reminds me of a tweed suit. This fabric is but a whisper of the hearty Harris Tweed suiting fabric. Unlike Harris Tweed, our scarf is knitted not woven and with a light loftiness to it, this scarf is more suited to the Australian climate.

Tweed was originally made for the elite and upper class used for garments such as hunting jackets.

Dating back to the 1800’s, Harris Tweed located on the Outer Hebrides of Scotland still operates to this day – churning out rolls of ‘clo mor’ – Gaelic for big cloth. Did you know the fabric is woven with pure virgin wool by individual weavers in their own homes – this entire process takes place in the Hebrides. Only then can the fabric display the Harris Tweed Orb logo.
